As far as break-ins go it could have been a lot worse. They smashed the little quarter window on a back door. Made off with some small change various car chargers and the facia of my stereo unit.
I'm assuming you can't get a new head unit for your stereo. Also took some minor tools, pocket knife. I don't want to add it up it will probably be more than I think.
Apparently the little window is going to cost more han I think to fix too. Not to mention the running round when I'm really busy.
It will be that really useful sum that is just about worth losing a no claim bonus over but not quite so it will all come out of my pocket.

I would suggest replacing the window with Lexcen sheet or perspex. I would love to see someone hit it with a hammer to find that it bounces back and gets them in the face.

Sorry to hear, they are low lifes. As richard4u2 said do a walk around. We had the defender broken into last year in Wollongong after Cooma. Found a bit of the stuff down the street, as they went through the stuff they just dropped it if was of no value to them, so you might be lucky and find some things.
The quarter should not be that dear, when we replaced the drivers window it was only $85.00 which I thought was a pretty good price. The biggest job is cleaning up all the glass and pulling the door apart to replace the window.
The Lexcen sheet or perspex sound good did that at home on a window that got broken a couple of times, how things bounce straight back at who ever through it.

someone's targeting Land Rovers in strata complexes where some idiot left the gate open... better get some Toyota badges
maybe I'm jumping the gun just a little bit.
I'm gonna get in touch with the strata manager and see what they can do about changing the pin no on our gate, and getting someone to install a timer so it self closes. Sometimes, things need to be idiot proof.

Not nice at all , I have had a few cars broken into in my time ... scum lookin for cash for grog or smokes .
you could always secure your Mother in Law to the said Rover , might breach certain Strata laws and rules , but this solves a 2 fold arguement
1. protection like no other [ really who wants to listen to it go off]
2. Gains respect of the Father in Law and forges new close bonds
Just an idea .. I could always see about putting you in touch with my ex-mother in law ... she looks like a bulldog chewin on a wasp
