Talking What's Better 200Tdi/300Tdi Or the Almighty V8?

    Ok Well........

Whats the Better Engine?????? 200Tdi/300Tdi or the V8???????????

Guess this battle has been going on for a long time so if ya got something to say go right ahead and say it!!!!!!!!!! This is for the more slightly older Landy's.....

At the end of this poll we'll see who the overall winner is.

I myself have never driven a Landy V8 so i cant say...but as to the 300Tdi i just love the bloody thing. Obviously its the fuel consumption thats best described with the diesel's but over all the simplicity of the engine goes a long way especialy when stuck in the bush or where ever. Part wise it could be a little expensive but there are just so many vendors out there your bound to find a cheap parts dealer. Over all foots down for the diesel for me!!!!!

    cheers simon

    LS9 - Game over.

But seriously, I think each is better in different situations.

    Touring the 300tdi
    Playing the V8
Fitting to series landys the 200tdi.
    Cheers

Same as Simon... I love my 300TDi. I can understand why some would like the V8 for it's grunt and it's nice note.

But for off-roading without having to give it the boot, just using the elegance of low down torque, there's no beating the 300 TDi... can't speak for the 200TDi but from everything I've read I assune it's the same.

I love being able to go more than 800km without the car needing a drink (even if I do), and parts are not expensive as long as you don't buy from rip-off merchants who charge more than double of what they should.

You left off the best engine - the 4BD1T. It can outperform a rover V8, and be almost as economical as a Tdi.

The 4BDIT comes standard with life-time filling replacement programme( By favourite Dentist) and a unique membership to the bearded clan of Australia.

Its a truck motor and should stay there.
Go the 300tdi, I am with Simon.

My best mate has a Isuzu and he loves it, makes me hate it even more especially when I hear him 2 blocks away.
