The only thing like that I can remember was "Matilda" the giant mechanical macropod from the Commonwealth games in Brisbane. She was at Wet'n'Wild or some such attraction for a while.

There was a lion park where the Hyperdome is now,may have been Bullens, but my memory is getting really stretched.

Umm,wasn't there an Ashtons park as well?

Anyway can't remember a dinosaur anywhere.

    Maybe Bullens was near Beenleigh?

What i do remember is they were the good old days,no traffic, lots of bush to go exploring after school, with our GSP's , a .22 slung over the shoulder & a pocket full of shorts......

Bullens was at Yatala on the western side and Ashtons was roughly where the Hyperdome is now.

Wet'n'Wild!! is that what the kids are calling it these days, wasn't CADES COUNTY good enough for them? Yes Matilda the blinking kangaroo was there for years but I didnt know she was from the com games.

I also went to World Expo 88 - together we showed the world. I remember the harrier jump jets overhead, the 3d japanese cinema pavillion, the NZ pavillion (almost picked up the gold bar) and I still have my platipus teddy.

This dinosaur hunt almost rivals that of the mythical panther of the Aussie bush !

    Do you remember AMAZONS ?

Didn;t know Matilda was from the Comm games ? Obviously NOT a local and therefore probably don't recall Amazons.

No I am not a local BUT we did have a house accross from sacnctury cove, and I did spend my youth travelling up and down foxwell rd. There was an emu living there for yrs, and you needed food to get past, it would stand on the road and make you stop, then come to the window for food, running out from the bush when it saw a car coming. What a life. Someone hit it after about 7 yrs of this.

At the 1990 new yrs eve party I had just got an inflatable boat for christmas with an 8hp merc, what a present! I was at the hyatt at sactury cove. What an awesome time. From someone in melbourne's point of view QLD has changed a million times over since those days. Its almost lost some shine.

Yeah I know what ya mean. We're losing the "character" of the place.
It's happening to the whole country.
