It happened on a bend
I lost a mate in a head-on on a bend. The other driver had a heart attack and was dead before the accident.... he crossed the centre line.
Very Sad, Christmas again on the roads
And now there are 3 more dead crossing the centre line on a bend.
1 fuel tanker Driver & 2 young children![]()
is it just the way I read it or are they going to wait until they have notify the next of kin before they release "Murray John Roberts, 71 of Picton's" name ??
I am led to believe the 2 girls killed in the petrol tanker accident were 11 and 13 years old. such a terrible waste of innocent life.
Paul
The saddest is when the parents in the front are killed and the children in the back are alive but seriously injured. It is heart wrenching trying to help a little kid understand being in intensive care, not wanting to lie to them and knowing that both their parents are dead (without other relatives). Never want to go there again!![]()

Not a good outcome but impressed with how well the defender (and the car being towed) fared.
If you are going to be in an accident then bigger is better.
Are you crazy? Have a look at the front seat area of that defender. It's gone and they aren't big to start with. The idea in these crashes that the front of the car crumples and disappears leaving the cabin in tact.
The engine bay looks fine on that car, it's just the front seat area that has disappeared. I love our defender but it isn't very safe compared to all the newer designs.
To see how a car should perform have a look at this. Note that the cabin is still in tact!

But, how many people buy a car based on how well it will crash. Safety would be a secondary consideration (if considered at all) in most peoples choice.
