Yes Brian but as you say "to my mind"
If someone is prepared to pay $400,000 for a Ford Falcon (a "mass produced car") then let 'em !
It would be interesting to see what would happen, if you all put your old series LR up on E-bay and the likes for $25,000 +.
Would this have the effect of bumping up the value ?
Red book and others, say they base there values on what the market is offering.
As others have said, restorations are almost always money losing exercises.
I am quite happy throwing rediculous amounts of money at my cars because it is a hobby I am passionate about, and they give me great enjoyment (and will do for years after they are completed) I have no intentions of selling, and no illusions that if I do I will lose bucket loads of money.
I have spent thousands of dollars doing a ground up on Gus, and I haven't even been fussed with using exactly correct parts! If I sold him I would easily lose 60%+ of what I have put into him.
I guess the only answer is to keep him then. :D
^ What he said!
