what an earth are you talking about???
Been reading the threads about the misfueling device on the D4's and it got me wondering...
What other Land Rover vehicles now have it fitted?
Surely it's not on the 2010 Defenders
Do Toyota fit these to the new Prado and 200 series?
What of the few diesel cars on the market here in Australia?
I suppose the 3.0L Patrol has one but its built in to the engine![]()

Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
new cars have a flap that stops you from putting the wrong nozzle into the filler so you cant put unleaded in a diesel engine.

i thought they were just narrower nozzles so you can't use the hi-flow truck diesel pumps?
nope because diesel also comes in the narrow nozzle format.
I think from what I read somewhere that theres 2 versions of it.
1 is a simple mechanical flap with a pair of releases that requires you use the larger diesel nozzle and the other his a stupidly sophisticated system that closes the filler neck, tests the fuel as it enters the neck and if its not near enough to the right stuff remains closed.

My understanding is they are only mechanical.

Someone with a D4 may be able to post up a picture of there's too.
The idea is sound although I must admit but it could be very problematic, hell its hard enough finding the diesel pump at some city servo's.
I get the impression only the D4 has one fitted. What of the RR, RRS, FL2 and of course the Defender?
What of other marques?

So something similar to the fuel filler all unleaded fueled cars came out with when they appeared around '87,so you couldn't get a super nozzle in to fill them up?
Apparently missfueling is a very common problem in Europe....
I found the other thread: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/d3-d4-zone...ng-device.html
I am not sure how Graeme can rill up with a high-flow nozzle at all if the MFD is one where the (small) diesel nozzle works like a "key" to open the filler.
Surely a drill bit or hole saw slightly larger than a high-flow nozzle would do the trick![]()
It's only a D4 after all...
