Double check that you can swap them Carolyn. While it may be a 'rover' type diff, its not identical, and I cant recall if you can straight swap an earlier rover centre for a p38 type one that you will have.

It's all good Harry took it up to Paul's he is too busy with zara ATM to worry about doing the job himself besides the hoist won't lift the defender till our hydraulic guy fixes it

I think it was actually 2002? Which means you just missed out unfortunately.

Personally I wouldn't put a rover diff in (or another P38A) - IMHO they aren't up to the job of hauling such heavy payloads to remote locations.

I had to replace mine a couple of years back.Easy with the right gear but time consuming.I got the whole kit out from Paddocks..quite a lot cheaper then from here and that included the heavy duty clutch.
    Good Luck,
    John.

yep 2002. A rover type with a locker would most likely be fine however.

Just recently I was talking to a bloke with a 130 with Rover type diffs who had had the same thing happen. So just how common is this? Are there lots of others out there or do you still have to be a little bit unlucky?
