oh ok my metal teacher writes the some of the hsc paper.what is it like being a dnt teacher
ahh, whos your teacher? He needs to write the papers harder!
Excellent, love it. Like any jobs there are aspects that are really enjoyable, and there are aspects that suck badly. If I had my time again I'd still go teaching, but every school has its own personality, challenges and positive aspects. People will knock you for all of the holidays, but at the same time would never step up to teach.
What I really enjoy apart from the subject, is the social interaction, the teaching, the creations and to see kids achieve at a level beyond them or beyond me. I hate marking, I hate report writing and I hate sanding timber.
It'll never make you rich, but to me its a fun and fulfilling job. It does however take a special type of person to do it. At times you really need the patience of a saint and you spend all of your time looking at things from other peoples perspectives.
If you do go into it, try to see a public school, a catholic systemic school and an independant school. It'll help you to chose which system you'd prefer to be teaching in.

Whatcha wanna know?
i was just seeing what you guys say about it i am actually wanting to do primary teaching but its still cool to see what yous say
My daughter has just finished her Primary Teaching degree here in Brisbane. She is one of the 2000 or so graduates from last year who have not been offered a position by the Education Dept. I believe that there are positions available for some specialist areas like secondary Maths and Science but for general Primary there are no positions. I think she would make a great teacher as she has been involved with kids through being a Joey Scout leader and other things she has done with kids but at the moment she does not have a teaching job. She has had to take on another type of job, still sort of involved with kids, and may have to go back to Uni and do secondary subjects. She really works better with the little kids though.
How that experience compares with NSW I have no idea. It is possible that the government down there organises the intakes to the teaching courses to match the known requirements for teachers but I kinda doubt it.
