    Question Maybe, maybe not???

    I'm considering the future here, and from a purely economic point of view is that I will soon have too many vehicles when the new one arrives, week after next. Here is the connundrum;
My RR Sherwood. Battle scarred, rough around the edges but ready to tackle anything at a moments notice. Its a keeper
The Lexus LS400. Smooth, quiet, reliable, efficient and cheap to run. Worthless on the used car market at present
The Vogue LSE Tdi. A great vehicle, just Tdi'd and transport approved, cheap to run, (A little underpowered though) not being used off road, not in the same league as my RRC for touring/ towing etc. Worth about twice the LS400 on the marketplace down here in Tas.
The new one. Not negotiable. Its a keeper

I guess you can see what I am saying here, a 2 Toymota ONE Landrover family.(But WHAT a LR, I lurve my Rangie)

    Oh the confusion

Help/ advice please, but sensible considerations will be appreciated.
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

    Hi JC
Seeing you alread own the old Lexarse/TDi,worth little to everyone but you, keep them as a workshop run around/customer borrow.Or if that hurts too much, have the TDi as the loaner, the Lexarse as the run around.
Im sure customers with a buggered landy would pay some sort of a hire fee for a loaner???
Sorry,LEXUS,I bet they are awsome to pilot, just having a stir!!!

    Hi andy,

The trouble with that is that insurance etc for loan vehicles is over the top, I went into it once when I had a 244 Volvo as a loan car and it ended up COSTING. And regarding a hire fee, the insurance is even worse because you have to have a license to hire out vehicles ....you know how it goes Red Tape Red Tape....

Plus, I would NEVER lend either of them out, couldn't bear to see them come back damaged etc

I am leaning to keeping the LS 400 because the extra $$$ in the bank at the moment would be really handy, but IF the LSE goes, it'll have to be to a good home.

Please post up pics of the 400 and the LSE to help with the decision making. I Like a good limo, you have 3.

I look at it this way, the 400s are common and, as you say, cheap so a replacement is possible if you have a change of heart.

Now the 300tdi LSE is not common (and i have a feeling you have a buyer already???), but you always know you can build another one (mabe a softdash next time??), the 3ootdi which has been rebuilt is the pricey bit though, and the hardest to find again for the price. Mave a td5 next time, or that 200tdi that is in sydney....

Big question. what is/will the car be used for. run around while your rangie is off the road? the LSE if you need to tow a car trailer (or do you have a workshop vehicle too?) If its just a run around with no hope of getting serious, keep the lexus.

Also pics of the new beastie

option 3, part them both out...

Well Andy thats the problem, the LSE was originally bought for SWMBO to use on offroad outings and a DD. This has now changed and the LS 430 will be hers/ family car, as mine gets to do all the hard work (So it should, too) and basically the reasons for having the LSE in the first place have evaporated I hate to say
I'm thinking of taking on the LS400 for MY DD, and using the RRC for work duties, towing and touring etc.
As mentioned, the $$$ income from the sale of the LSE would boost the 'house savings and school fee fund' a fair bit more than the LS400 is ever likely to get.
Trouble is, I would like to keep them all but THAT would be just wrong

( Daughter number 2 will be in high school in 2 years time, thats going to hurt$$$ I can't think what it'd be like having 3 or more in a private education these days Daughter number 1 will be in final year next year, so not much overlap thank goodness, one could only live on baked beans on toast for so long...)

I'll sleep on it a bit more
    Thanks for the input
