Is anyone here an ALST on offshore oil rigs, or does anyone here know anyone that is one?
I am after any information on the job, regarding how much work is out there, and the best way to go about getting any employment in this trade.
Thanks!

Have not heard it called that before. ALS usually stands for Advanced Life Support. Generally paramedic (for the sarcastic people refering as first aiders the qualifications are a fair bit higher than that now). I know a couple. There is a bit of variance, some do medical only, others have to do OHS as well. You will also need HUET training for off shore.
Money varies depending on location and company.
Often 1 month on or longer.

If I was younger and not married I would have been interested in that sort of Job for a year or so.
