I've worked in the Broking/Banking sector for many years and the general rule of thumb is, Its not against company policy too view attachments, BUT it is against company policy too knowingly forward emails/attachments that contain porm. So Technically he hasn't breached company policy. Having said that the biggest factor that will influence his Bosses is how much money he makes, If he's a large Dealer then he will get a smack on the wrist. If he was in Back office he'd be gone by now.
