The ferret in the pic belonged to the fellow who owns 4wd city/suv sales been up for sale for a while with some extras 40mm bofors etc wanted to much, but it has been registered before. We had two at 2 cav for parades interestingly they have same number of reverse gears as forward, british for fast escape :angel:

I think all vehicles at that time had to go over the pits at Port Melb. They knocked back my Series 2 ex army because of a cracked exhaust manifold.
The authorities were pretty tough back then.

yeah but back then the authorities actually knew something about vehicles and werent just revenue raisers.

Ive had a some rippers for why my vehicle wont pass roadworthy.

Rocking with the park brake engaged "really genius its a transmission brake and thats acceptable and perfectly normal"

brake pads are under thickness.... "since it has drum brakes care to tell me how you worked that out?"

the power steering is too heavy "Series rovers dont have power steering"

The gearbox is faulty it grinds gears "yes, non syncro boxes do that if you dont know how to drive properly"

Ive heard of plenty of others.

Is this the one that is up for sale? I think they are asking $20,000 for it. I would love to own such a machine, I would arrive at work everyday with a smile on my face. Just imagine dropping the kids off at school in it.

It was for sale when at 4wd city they were asking 30k for it registered with those plates it does look good upclose no car park dents but you could put some in those pesky toymotas at bunnings:twisted:

I remember it being for $25K with the plates and gear.

Power steering would fix that and they have a preselect gear box she would look good in the turret:angel:

Seem to remember a past 'celebrity' called Samantha Fox who drove a Ferret (or tank as the media reported it) through a picket line in the eighties.
