    Toyota recovery

Was cruising along Tongy rd today in the 4BD1 120" looking at the floods here, taking plenty of pics and found a 79 series Toyota bogged Two blokes ran out to the main rd and flagged me down. I told them to get a real 4X4 if driving in mud

Well, I relented and dragged them out. He'll never bag my Rover again Was amazed it never sunk in or even slipped the tyres. I dragged him out in high range with the CDL open

    Oh what a feeling!

I suggested he stayed on the tar roads till things dry up a bit

Was a mate actually. Was so much fun giving him a hard time in a situation when the toyota was done! In the past he has bagged me with what did you get a Rover for!

Yes it was a dangerous recovery The ol tow ball thing I wasn't keen on the idea at all. No by standers but could have trashed my truck.

What WERE they doing driving in there in the first place??? That is asking for trouble in that terrain after any amount of precipitation

Good pic Tony Should post it on 'exploroz'

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Any one is most welcome to distribute this image Wish we had the camera rolling during the recovery. The sound of a 4BD1T at 900 RPM lugging it out with ease Was just spooling up the turbo

I have many times just idled in low 1st up some huge slopes, people watching can't believe the revs never change from when I start it at the bottom until it gets to the top

And you're right, the whistle at just above idle is very 'menacing' isn't it?

Must be addictive Music to the ears
One thing about the 120" Has character that is unexplainable. I have a heap of locals here that are fascinated by the shear grunt it has... Like you said, just on song and holds on with no sudden rev changes if it breaks traction.
