Hi, went for a NSW blue slip inspection today on our 1982 seies 3 Izuzu 109". He sent me away as he could not find the chassis number and told me to come back when I have found it. His book told him to look at the rear of the chassis, but after scraping away all the paint that I had put on, he could not find the Chasis number.
Help please.

Try drivers side front above the front spring hanger too. ( 82 and Isuzu - sounds like a stage 1)

Series 3 should be on the LH rear spring hanger - the bit the shckle pivots on, on the flat surface facing straight out. You are likely to have to remove all paint to see it.
110s had it on the RH outside of the chassis just behind the bumper attachment, and it is possible that late S3 including the stage 1 may have moved to there. Same location is used in many overseas built ones. Same comment about paint applies.

That is where it was, not on the chassis itself, but on the spring hanger that hung down from the chassis. So thanks to all who replied.
