I now have water views in Goulburn would you believe.

Just got back to Goulburn from Sydney at about 3:00pm today drove through really heavy rain on the freeway From about Bowral on with hundreds of cars stopped on the side waiting for the rain to stop.

Anyway when we got home we discovered we now have water views from the bedroom Shame they won't last. The real good part is after the rain we have been getting over the last few days and todays big fall all the dams are full all around here and many are overflowing. The bottom paddock is under a foot or more of water, its nice to have 10 acre lake for the first time.

The river level on the north side of town has risen about ten feet after todays heavy rain.

I bet north of here got even more, not sure if Canberra got any but if it did get the same rain as here then Lake George might actually have some water in it for the first time in years.

Anyway it is great to have lots of water for the first time in ages.

    cheers,
    Terry

Oh this is just the cruelest tease!!!

Here I am sweating my behind off in Marble Bar and all I hear from home is wet! Wet! Wet!!!

It's just so good to hear that the heavy rains have fallen and the timing isn't too bad either. Congratulations everybody! We can have a life again!!

Just before dusk the new lake in the bottom paddock had increased in size by a factor of at least ten. Nearly all of the valley as far as I could see in either direction had water coverage.

I had heard storys of this happening many years ago but what a sight to see.

Anyway its good to have water again, I hope plenty of other areas good as good a deluge as us.

    cheers,
    Terry

We drove through Goulburn about the same time.Boy that was some heavy rain. At Lake George, there was a thin layer of water across most of it. I can imagen there will be lots of photos appearing soon. We've had almost another 20mm this morning here in the south of Canberra.

Hey Zute were you driving the dark Grey D2?

The forecast is for another 50 mm later today if that is right then Lake George should be looking real good by tomorrow.

There are still roads in Goulburn this morning blocked off because of flooding across them, our water view has nearly all gone though.

Its good to hear other places got a similar soaking.

    cheers,
    Terry

We came back through Cowra and Boorowa last night, all the creeks and dams were full. We have the most water in the river at Yass I've seen in 7 years.
81 MM between saturday AM and 6am this morning, there's probably a bit more in the gauge now as well.

Yep we got heaps of rain. Managed to lay the next slab on Saturday. It was under water later that night and didn't surface again till sometime sunday.

No flood pump this time. I did have to unseal the new drainage lines to keep the water down though. Can't wait till it's all being directed away from the house.
