You will find the TD5 will still struggle a tad with the 235/85s in manual form.They are slightly bigger diameter than the 265.Its a matter of selecting lower gears early.Im still with the standard 3.54s
I would bet they peform a lot better than the 265 off-road.

It's the other way round Andy, the 265/75s are 31.8" and the 235/85s are 31.7, not a lot I know, but the less weight in rolling resistance should help a bit.Quote:

I would go the KM2's Baz, like others have heard good things about them, and apparently they are the quietest mud terrein.
Tougher to push/turn a wider tyre in the dirt.

As for daily drivers I have had only two sets of BFG AT's on my defender to date. I get nearly 100k out of a set.

BFG do a 255 85 R16 there big but do fit. U need extra outward offset on disco steels of 1 inch tho. Ive got a 300tdi with the injector pump adjusted for off boost torque tho. I hear the TD5 struggles down low in comparison??
The KM2 bfgs are awsome on and off road very good in the wet on and off the bitumen.....
The D2 will run 255/85-16 on standard 7" rims with your lift Baz. I used to run that setup ages ago with Cooper ST and Cooper STT. BTW, that is no recommendation for Cooper at all, but the size is fine. That size can require more pressure than usual because they lack stability in the sidewalls compared to 285/75-16.

7" and 265 is good on that rim without lift.

Yep, you'll have 7" rims and the 265/75-16s should be ok if you have a bullbar. Just about everybody runs that size with a 2 lift as it works better. With regards to rub, you should be ok, but I think the MTZ has larger side biters, so I'm not definate on the rub situation.Quote:
