I run 245/75/16 Maxxis Bravo 751's - they JUST clear my TJM bar by about a cm, so I am thinking that like Slunnie says the 265 with its extra height from the percentage of the width would be very very close and my preference would be for a lift (and towing a 21' Vagabond I would have to go to lower diff ratios). Also while I got my insurer's happy stamp for the 245/75 I very much doubt that they would give me the extra height of the higher tire plus a lift...

On the front it has the factory plastic bar with a factory bullbar over it so theyll most likely hit on the plastic unless I get an aftermarket winch bar.

If you have the factory front bumper and the bullbar over the top, the 265s will rub on the standard factory front bumper, the 265s will also rub on the radius arm, regardless of whether you have a lift or not.Quote:

just an observation: about 2 weeks ago I was in Cape York and accompanied someone on their 400km return fortnightly visit to Woollies in weipa... Their Navara dual cab was shod with Maxix A/T something or other and I was most impressed with their handling and comfort over the c-o-r-r-u-g-a-t-i-o-n-s at 90-110 km... the cooper H/T (10/90) road tyres on my P38 on the other hand transferred the vibration like steel wheels on a railroad.... must get some A/T tyres... :(
We all ran Simex at 20psi while fully loaded - the soft tyres absorbed most of the corrugations which were big enough to throw shadows!
Yep Simex are sweet. My brother has them on his 450hp County comp truck...35's. They sound like a Cesna taking off near you but do the business.
Yep the Maxxis AT Bravo 751 are a very good tyre (751 is their most aggressive AT). They are like (in the LT) a heavier duty version of the original Mich XPC which always did better off road than how the tread pattern looked.
I was thinking of doing the Tele tack with them, but I guess I will have to pick my season...Having said that I would go with one or 2 other vehicles, so should be ok.

So to run the bigger tyres offset rims are needed and get rid of the factory bar.
Will look for a smaller tyre in the meantime.

Interesting most people I know like their BFG's/ I;ve had BFG Mud Terrains (the old pre-KM2) pattern on my current Defender since I bought it.. and they were from my previous Defender sp I've had them a good few years now.. and it's my daily driver.Quote:
