I have the federal tyres there very good but they tend to be abit slippy on wet roads and they don't tend to bag out as much as some others do.
I am going to get the KM2 next once the federals wear out.

We have narrowed our choice down to 3 brands, I'm just after opinions on these 3 choices
First are Federal Couragia, these are the cheapest of the 3 at $198ea
Second are Goodyear MTRs with the new Kevlar techknoledgy, these are $279ea
Third are BFG KM2s at $283.
What are your opinions on these tyres, has anyone had experience with them and how did they perform.
Please I don't want opinions on what you think are the best between the 3, just what you thought of the particular tyre you had or currently if you have them on your car, things like mileage, on and off road performance and whether they chipped or not.
I will choose one of these and I have one that I'm leaning towards, I just need something to make my mind up, if that makes sense
Oh yeah and the type of driving you do.
Baz.
Cheers Baz.

One thing for sure i wont get BFG's again, i had 2 new ones and 3 2nd handy's but they F up pretty quick. I'd be looking at the Desert dueler 693 or 694 in an AT and for muddies Dunlop grantrek MT2's . The set of MT2's i have just wont wear out and they are fairly aggressive. Size will be 265/70 (75) 16.

If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
What the?
Did not understand one thing of that.
My buddies patrol has the new BFG mk's something. Has had for 4 months and says best tyre he ever had. he swayed from coopers and these are the ants pants.
He shows zero wear and now done 8500km's of 50/50 highway and dirt roads to his property.
They look the goods too, I must admit. Costly.
As the saying goes, you only get what you pay for.
Does that help.
I've got Goodyear MTRs on the RR and I had them on my 90.
On the RR they are good and I've got pretty good wear out of them, but the RR has excellent sound insulation and they were 'stock' size. Excellent in mud as you would expect. Handling in the wet on bitumen is OK.
On the 90 they were terrible, probably because they were oversized (265 compared to stock of 235) and made the steering feel heavy but overriding everything was the noise of them. With the little sound insulation that comes with a Defender they were unbearable.
They are probably just as noisy on the RR, but better insulation makes all the difference.
Baz, I've not had experience with any of those three, but from what I've read, I'd probably go the MTR's. I was looking at those last year. Whatever you decide, the fact you are towing a camper trailer will no doubt weigh into the decision. Good luck, and has already been said - you only get what you pay for ...
