    An iPad can be simultaneously connected to multiple bluetooth accessories however as noted above, most (but not all) bluetooth accessories can connect to only one iPad (or one phone etc).

    Just for the sake of info sharing, my iPhone 4S will simultaneously bluetooth connect with my iPad gen 3 and my BlueAnt hansdfree.

    And my motorcycle communicator doohickey can fair up with about 6 or so other units in a group - and it all works via bluetooth.....
    It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
