    Hema app on android tablet

Hi all, couldn't find a gps section so posting this here . So does anyone use the hema app on android? Is it any good?

I'm not a computer wizz so hoping it won't be too complicated. I think oziexplorer might be a bit too complex for me, otherwise looks good.

    Cheers, Andrew.

Haven't used the Hema app, but use Ozi regularly - it only needs to be as complicated as you want it to be.

    Basic stuff is pretty simple.

Here's some info that may help you. We have Ozi and Hema maps on our laptop, but have found the laptop to be too big for the fron of the Defer, so am now looking at an Android to use, or whether to just get the Hema unit instead. Its just because I wear bifocals that I really want the largst screen I can get, and I'm not sure the Hema unit is quite big enough

I'm running Hema Explorer on a Sony Xperia tablet. Love it, there are great tutorials to go with the app; if I can master it, it must be easy and user friendly. Having no real estate issues attaching it to the windscreen of the truck or Fairlane but would imagine there could be obscured vision problems in a Defender.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

I have been using the Hema maps on my Samsung tablet - works well and easy to understand. I tried Ozi Explorer with Raster maps but just could not get it to work properly. In my view, using the Hema maps is the best option & much cheaper!

Thanks guys, I bit the bullet and got the app, and for $29 seems like great value with all the maps included. Will check out the tutorials, thanks for the tip. Glad you're happy with the Sony Xperia tablet, is the one I'm going to get as I have the Sony z3 Xperia compact phone (which is where I put the hema app) and is very good. I like how the Sony products are water and dust proof, handy for a defender... I cut out a cardboard template of the 10" tablet dimensions and it will fit well in the defender dash, any tips on a good tablet mount?
    Cheers, Andrew.

Don't know what model you are in - but if it has an ashtray it may be worth sacrificing

The bracket just bolts through the existing ashtray, with some ply fillers and then clips in as per the ashtray, seems to have held up well over many km of corrugations. The actual tablet holder is a cheapie from JB-HiFi
