Hard mounting a Hema Navigator HN7

    Hi all

I am tired of the windscreen attachment not holding my GPS. I would like to hard mount it to the dash.

Any ideas on a mounting system? I googled and found this:

Brodit #215114 Hema Navigator Mounting Accessories Mount

but just seeing if there are any other options.

    Thanks

    Question

I've got a mate that has just used some Velcro Tape and found a suitable place on the Dash and just velcro'd it to the dash.....when not in use, it can be easily removed.... but his car wasn't a LR though....

I have a HN7 as well, nice and large so you can see heaps.... but yes it blocks out plenty of w/screen too. This solution looks feasible, BUT where would you put it?

    Sorry...it's actually a HN6.

ok...after some head scratching. I came up with this....

I have an additional Mud console that sits on top of the dash. It houses my Boost and Pryo gauge, but had a blank area in the middle. I can still see the Boost gauge when sitting in the drivers seat.

I'm a fan of the Ram dash mounts (screwed to the dash). I've got a tablet mounted using one, as well as a phone and a tyre monitoring system (I'm also a complete tosser). They're all as solid as a rock.

You might need to screw/glue the diamond mount to the back of your Hema bracket but it could work.

You can buy all the bits separately to make up the arrangement you want. http://www.rammount.com/components

    Hema 7 vs Puma dash

Im thinking of using a RAM mount as well. I have a 7 inch reversing camera monitor on my dash mounted using wide 3M tape. (I have a 16ft off road van). Rock solid, but leaves bugger all space for the Hema. I think I'll mount it to the angled clear side of the dash, and take it down when not needed.
I dont want the dash to look like a 747 cockpit.

I have a Hema HN7 and have mounted it on the dash so I can reach it.

I have screwed a plate to the top of the dash and suctioned it down. It didn't last long so it is now held down to the plate by 2 zip ties crossed over the mount.

Works well for me. Uses std mount onto plate on dash.

Not sure if this would work, but woud it be a good idea to install a roof console and mount the GPS to that? No windscreen blockage, but it would be in place when needed, just by glancing up instead of down. Just a thought.
