I had a look at the Hema App on my phone today and with in app purchases you can buy the 25k topo maps for NSW for $100. Same for Vic, SA etc. The Hema App lets you download the map on a trial basis. Did that and zoomed in but the Hema App did not drop into the topi map - had to select it manually.
I will have to look at mud maps 3 which costs $100 but I think it comes with the 25k topi maps for the east coast. Perhaps better value.
Hope you are feeling better. I will have to try your imports.
All the best

MM 3 is good, but I'd do my research into the developer. There are quite a few people 'displeased' with them.
Mud Maps2 VS Hema VS Oziexplorer
Thanks guys.. I found the buy more maps in the hema app. :o
I've got the Hema app, but late last year picked up memory map (Memory-Map Aus/NZ | Topo Maps | Marine Charts | GPS Software for PC Android and iOS)
The thing I like about it over Hema and others is that when you buy the maps, in most cases you are licensed to use it on multiple machines. I buy the maps from the memory map site rather than through apple.
So I have topo maps for Vic and SA as well as the Westprint series of outback maps - loaded to my phone, my iPad, my desktop and my laptop and I only have to buy each set of maps once. The Hema Maps are available for it too...
Aus Maps : Topo maps | 4WD maps | Australia maps | PC : iPad : Android | Memory-Map Aus/NZ
Very happy with it - similar functionality to the Hema app - but not locked in
As for Mud Maps... I bought MM1.... then I paid again for MM2...... wasn't willing to do the same again for MM3....
True!... I forgot that...
I use Memory Map for my HEMA 4x4 and TOPO maps, I also have ExplorOZ maps and WestPrint maps on my Android.
Memory maps is a great interface for all these maps, and it means I have maps on my Android Tablet, Android Phone, my laptop and desktop running windows.[smilebigeye]
We just came back from a trip... and a couple of the people had the old ozi exporer and hema units which I think used windows CE?
It's probably not entirely fair as they were a few years old. Either way - both were so hard to use they were close to useless. Even basic functions were buried in a rabbit warren of obtuse menus. And then,, just operating the devices were nearly impossible. Using fingers didn't work so both had to be operated by stylus.. again pretty well impossible in a moving car.
The hema app doesn't have all the features of dedicated GPS units but it sure is very easy and intuitive to use what it has.
