All these things (dust and dried shrubbery) remind me of where I would rather be when I drive it to the supermarket.
When the last of the gumnuts drop off it's time to go bush again.
I thought the tree was an attempt be be green 8)

one_iota,
Didn’t mean to hit a nerve. :?
I will have to look in to modifying the GPS holder I have just bought as it was great for holding the phone but as soon as I put the GPS in to it I didn’t even get out of the garage and it fell off.
The GPS unit only a 200 explorest is a bit heavier than the phone. So I have found the suction type no good.

My skin is much thicker than the dust on my dash.
I note that a similar mount to mine is available for the explorist:

You could do what i have done if you are prepared to drill holes in the dash. 8O

Had to wipe the dust of the instrument pannel last time I drove it so I could see if any of the lights were working. 8O
Missus thinks I need to hose it out.

Great site I like the antenna car kit.
Swivel mounting bracket looks like it would have to be attached with screws as well.
Well i've bitten the bullet and ordered a RAM mount, so i'll be able to tell you if it's as good as it's supposed to be soon![]()

Well I must confess I am a Numpty and would like to withdraw my previous post as the suction type mounts are great you just need to know how to mount them.
When I bought my holder I though you just suction cupped it to the front window and bingo GPS holder. It was just stuck to the window with the holder and unit sitting free air about 50mm off the dash, but found the holder kept falling off over bumps.
After seeing how one was mounted in a picture in one of the current 4WD Monthly mags I thought I should mount my GPS holder the same.
It works great as pictured below. The GPS even works properly now in a holder just under the front window glass instead off down in the bottom of the cabin near the UHF radio.
