I have had my HN7 now for a couple of years and am pretty happy with it But I needed another offroad GPS for the little Navara I have recently bought so I decided to try one of those VMS units that are sold by 4WD Supercheap.
They are as differant as chalk and cheese and you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to GPS units, The HN7 definitely outshines the VMS unit.
The Hema unit boots up on startup with all the same settings and map you used the last time But with the VMS unit you have to set it up all over again each time you start the truck.
The maps on the HN7 are also better than the VMS unit although I can upload better maps to the unit But out of the box they are pretty "Ordinary".
I did get the optional reversing camera for the VMS unit and this works pretty well which is good.
I paid about $600 for my HN7 and the VMS was a shade under $300 (with postage) so it is relatively cheap But the HN7 is by far the better GPS to use.
