    Hi Ranga,
Thanks for your prompt and informative reply.

    A significant point.

This appears to have a totally different menu system, so would take a fair bit of effort and finger crossing to get working with my files. Even then, it might not work SNIP

    Fair enough.

Without having one to tinker with, I can't help to much. I was given info how to mod the ones I deal with before I even acquired one, so not sure where you might find info on them.

    OK

FWIW, I'm willing to have a crack, but as they say, all care taken, no responsibility".
I really appreciate your offer, but all things considered I probably should forget this idea (at least until a SDHC slot is available).

    Many Thanks,
    Peter

    Thumbs up

The charger is 100-240V, 50-60Hz - just need a standard Aust/US converter plug.

Ranga, received the disk you sent, your instructions for the GPS Menu update were pretty much what I worked out by a little trial and error, certainly clearer than those on the www. The couple of extra files were handy in tidying up my installation and saved download time.
I haven't looked at it all in detail, is the updated firmware file on the disk?

    Thanks Again

I've heard of others twisting US power plugs, but not with these chargers.

To be honest, I can't say I've ever thought about plugging the GPS into a wall socket - mine always charges in the car, or if I'm modding them straight into the PC (the PC cable charges them also).
