Hey Ranga,
Before I take you up on your kind offer, I would still like to know how to communicate with the GPS through the PC.
When I plug the GPS into the USB port, an icon comes up in the start bar for a few seconds then disappears???
I cannot see anything extra loaded in 'My Computer'.
Does this need a driver of some sort? It came with no software, so I assume its 'plug n play'.
Or is the only communication through the SD card(that will require some sort of card reader hardware)?
Sorry for being a pest, but even after you have loaded up all the goodies for me, I will still have these problems.
Cheers,
biggin.
not sure if the solutions going to be the same as for the one I did up for the SWMBO but.
its a windows thing.
SWMBOS came up in windows XP no dramas as a removable drive (actually 2 one for the internal units storage and one for its memory card slot)
but Vista didnt want to have a bar of it untill I installed the hacked OS and then it came up as a portable device and tried to sync with it through active sync. The first time It tried to sync I let it and that crashed the GPS so after a reinstall on XP the next time I hooked it up to the vista machine when it asked to set up the sync I selected no and then it came up as the same 2 drives that XP found on the first go round.
Hope thats of some use.
Dave

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
Basically, the only communication you need with the GPS is with the SD card. You're much better off using a card reader to do this. Even though you can communicate with the GPS directly attached to a PC, it's only in USB 1 mode which is much slower than using a card reader.
