Just couldn't wait, just sitting here watching it and hoping it would jump into life and say "Hello miky, where do you want to go today" was just not cutting it

So... took the bull (or rather the sd card) by the horns so to speak and first backed up and then put the Australian iGo8 map on.
    Awesome. Worked first time.

Now I can find my way to the shop at the end of the street....

By the way... it came with: iGo 8.3.2.80621 March 10th 2009
    Whatever that means

    Red face

    Hi Ranga,
My curiousity got the better of me again, so I tried to upgrade the menu on the Mrs's gps using pez's instructions. I fumbled through steps one and two reasonably well and actually was confidant that I was going to pull it off. However step three has me buggered. Replacing the existing YFAP30 file in ResidentFlash2 is the stumbling block - I can't find it! There is a ResidentFlash but no ResidentFlash2.
I even looked in my GPS that you configured for me a month ago, and couldn't find it there either. Anyway I concede defeat and if it's okay I would like to send it up to you, if you don't mind me hassling you yet again.
    Cheers,
    biggin.

Residentflash2 is a hidden folder - follow JLo's instructions and you should be fine. If you have dramas, give me a call and I'll talk you through it.

Well, I downloaded the OziExplorerCE version for "Windows Mobile 5" and ActiveSync for Windows XP.
Can connect to unit with ActiveSync but when I run the OziExplorer install it will not install onto the SD card. Comes up with an error.

"Cannot copy the file. Make sure mobile device is connected, that the mobile device has space available and is not write protected, and that all setup programs have been completed."

So what am I missing here, or am I just a bit thick

    Mike

I never use Activesync - just use an SD card reader to copy the files.

The file from OziExplorer site is:
    pocketpc_windows_mobile_setup.exe
which can be extracted to give:
    setup.exe
    wm5_oziexp.WM5.cab
    PKTparamM.txt
    oziexp.ini
    oziexp.ico

I copied these onto the sd card.
Now what? How do I actually install oziexplorer?
Running setup.exe with the card in the unit gives me the same error.

Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself and should just wait for the dvd
Who once said "patience is a virtue" !! Obviously I haven't got it
