    Got my units and Ranga's DVD all on the same day. Already upgraded and the street navigation is working a treat. Only issue I have is that the bluetooth seems to not be functioning. I remember on the DX forum it mentioned this and I wonder if the instructions left out that point?

    Either way I'm very happy with the units and the DVD that ranga put together.

    EDIT:

    Ok I have looked at the files included on the DX forum and it seems everything was included. Has anyone else had troubles with the bluetooth? I try and pair the phone to the gps and it just times out. The phone picks up the other phone and computer etc so it seems the issue is with the gps unit. Any clues anyone?

    I tried to connect up a friend's phone by bluetooth, the phone indicated it was connected but the bluetooth link didn't work. I've since updated the GPS firmware to the latest version and it now works.


    Suggest you add the following step to the start of RANGA's excellent instructions for the GPS menu change.

    "When your new DX GPS unit arrives, it will probably have an old version of firmware on it. Before you continue onto the next steps you must update this firmware. Put the two files extracted from the RAR file below in the root of your SD card. Then, power off (not sleep) your GPS and turn it back on. A blue upgrade screen should appear. After upgrading, please remove the two upgrade files from the SD card. (This firmware update fixes some problems with the FM Transmitter.) "

    Download the new firmware file (18Mb) from : http://www.mediafire.com/'dnzoxztthun

    If you don't upgrade the firmware before using RANGA's instructions you will need to do the GPS menu upgrade again.

    This is a picture of the settings screen on my 500mhz model after putting in the yfap30 update.Any one have any theories on why its done it?
    What language would it be lol.

    TomTom Fix

    G'Day Other DXer's,

    I've got everything to work except the Tom Tom Fix. Bluetooth works. (Don't know about the FM transmitter.)

    Ranga's detailed instructions and DVD along with gazk's firmware post have done what they've supposed to - with the sole exception of the TomTom Fix.

    In the TomTom Fix procedure, at step 13, I don't get a "process was successful" message - or if it comes up it goes away too quickly for me to read. Maybe the RunMeforDCT.cmd line isn't working?

    Any suggestions?

    I had the same problem with the "TomTom fix" when I tried it. (don't get the "process was sucessful" message) I'm happy with the iGO8 navigation application that came with the unit so I'm sticking with that.

    Did you backup the original YFAP30 folder? If you did, try pasting that back and see if it returns to it's original state.

    Also, try pasting over the YFAP30 folder from the DVD again - maybe some of the files didn't copy accross properly. Worst case scenario, I can send you my YFAP30 files.

    My luck i forgot to back up the yfap30 files,you wouldnt have the original ones you can send me PLEASE.unclemat351@hotmail.com if you feel like emailing them to me cheers Mat.
