Took the Bosch starter apart for a clean and noticed one of the threaded terminals on the sol was a bit floppy doppy so decided to pull it apart to see if I could tighten it up. Removed the two screws at the end but the two halves dont want to seperate. It feels as though something is holding on on the inside. Anyone pulled this apart before?

You are still attached to the solenoid windings, which are mostly soldered in, one to the other end of that spade that the blue terminal is attached to, and the other over the other side going to earth. Might be best to leave it, unless you like a challenge. It's not really hard, but it helps to have a bit of an idea. I would try tightening the posts up and trying it like that.
One thing though: in that pic there is only one nut on each post. That is wrong. Those nuts should be tightened down to secure the posts, and another brass nut and washer should be there to secure the terminals.
