    Whats this please?

On the Holden red HP 179 , on the inlet manifold sticking out beneath the breather hose - has a hole in it pointing toward the bulkhead. Cant think what would go here, if anything. Everything appears to be present and correct.

All comments gratefully received as usual.

    cheers,
    D

On my Land rover it's the pivot for the throttle linkage. What it was originally used for on a Holden, Ive got no idea..

I'm wondering if its got something to do with the heater tap. A pivot point as suggested, but a heater I'm thinking, depending on what year car it came out of,, or of course, it could be an older manifold than the actual motor (??), I'm not sure when the 179 came out.

    Thanks everyone.

I got the Mrs to look at it when she got home as I’ve mislaid my glasses. It is a pivot point for something. The hole goes all the way through. I thought it was just on one side.
    cheers,

The pivot point is for mechanical kickdown linkages on an EH fitted with hydramatic auto transmission. The pivot point is also the same for HD, HR and HK fitted with powerglide autos. The manual trans fitted cars just had a dimple or a hole in the manifold with no pin fitted.

    Cheers Rod
