Iveco Eurocargo 4x4 shifting into neutral.

Last weekend I completed the offroad driving course for the CFA. Our new tankers are the Iveco Eurocargo's, quite an impressive machine with triple difflocks etc.

A few concerning happenings were occuring, and as we talked they'd happened more than once, and on numberous trucks with the new AS automated manual box.

Three times that weekend we had a truck shift itself into neautral whilst going down a 30 degree slope, not the nicest feeling with 15 tonne.
A few other odd things like not changing back to first when told to do so (on flat ground), and downshifting very early when the exhaist brake was on.

Just wondering if anyone has experience in this truck and has experienced the same thing.

    Benji.

Commiserations & good luck with that, The Automated Manual in the Daily is the biggest pile of **** and an affront to gearboxes worldwide.

If your on Facebook have a look at 4x4 Iveco Daily - Fails & Lemons public group | Facebook

I know its not a Daily but we have some Iveco Dealer mechanics in the group & they may be able to help.

Thanks so much, heading over there now.
Talking to the wiggins who work on the tricks they don't know, and Iveco apparently say it's impossible.... though another member is a heavy diesel mechanic and pretty switched on, so it definitely happened.

If personally rather a manual box, though with essentially many unskilled drivers in the CFA I can understand why they've gone this route.
We did seem to have to drive around it's deficiencies however.

    Regards, Benji.

Geez moving away from Isuzu. In brisbane we were watching with interest the CFA youtube on driving the allison transmission in the Isuzu. With the poor driving performance of some of the local brigade and no formal training thought it would be a good step up from the manual.
