Sidewall only in the MTRs, tread only in the SAs.

Well, I settled on 5 MTR's at $495 each PLUS 5 19inch rims at $295each - off a Range Rover Sport 2009 model that someone was blinging up with 22's (!). All from Barbagallo Tyres in Osborne Park WA (they also run one of two WA Landrover Dealerships hence why they have 60 odd MTR's in stock and a range of wheels (2nd hand) available if you want a second set.
Shipping from Perth to Adelaide with Hunter Express was $175 which is pretty good door tro door for the weight of 5 wheels and tyres.
So, the new D4 with e-diff and MTR's should be able to keep up with most things - and certainly GGHaggis RRS (!)
cheers
[QUOTE=gghaggis;1253522]You might need um, one or two more mods to do that .... ;)
Yes, I see where this is going - I need rock sliders, transmission guard, compressor plate......;)
I have a feeling we will be talking soon....!:D
This is correct. For all those convinced there will be a good supply of offroad tyres in 19" -- take note of this discontinued line. Goodyear only did it for the G4 Challenge and the exposure, not because they thought it would be a volume seller and clearly the commercials haven't supported continuing the line.
I think more tyres in that size will come, but not as quickly as the 17s which were driven by the likes of the Prado 120 followed by Pajero and others, a far greater market than 3.0 D3s. I don't see those cars going to 19" minimum any time soon, some come stock with 18s but they take 17s.
All LR G4 cars had these tyres fitted and their are a stronger P construction not LT.
Oh, I hadn't realised that (P construction versus LT) - thanks for the info!
Yes, but not all Ps are equal. There's the very thin high-speed tyre and the all-terrain...may be both classed as P but quite different strengths and puncture resistance. Look also for XL construction which is P for Extra Load. In other words don't write off a tyre just because it's not LT.
