I will head up to the dealer later this week and ask to see what warranty work has been done and talk turkey with the warranty guy.
Thanks to you all for your help, I will let you know how it goes...

I finally had the time to read the PDS line by line and just found this ominous little paragraph in the 'Used' warranty:
Limit in what we will pay
In the period of insurance, the most we will pay in total for any one mechanical failure, including additional expenses is $2,000. The overall limit is an amount equal to what you paid for the vehicle. This amount is shown next to the price in the vehicle identification part of the schedule.
That, I think, changes everything. If something big breaks (like the ZF), I can't afford the $10k replacement but even with the warranty, I can't afford the $8k!!!
I'm seriously re-thinking the whole deal now. I only have $200 invested as a deposit but if I can't get a decent warranty for a $50k car then I'm starting to think its not a good idea...
That ****es me off because I really want the car. I can't go up to a D4 because my employer caps the total value I can salary sacrifice to below the Luxury Car tax which I think kicks in at around $60k.
I might have to bin this car and find an '07 model over East (because there are none West) that is still covered by Factory warranty that I can extend.
Thanks again for all the posts, it has helped me out enormously,
Norm
Ain't that just a Devil in the detail.
Sub $50k with less than 36 months it is then ...........
.......... or enjoy the Commodore ;) .......... :wasntme:
