All good but none the wiser. The dealer could not find any logged fault....very strange..as it went into their workshop locked at access height, and with fault messages rotating through the dash display? They believe the installation of Q093 will fix it, and this has now been completed.
My intention to purchase a fault reader/finder just went up the list.
They're unduly hopeful to think that software fixes faults that only occur when a manual seat is used in a forward position. Someone probably moved some cables that alleviated the condition for the moment, but not fixed.Quote:

Back already. The same fault, and I have used the same process to clear it. Move the seat back, drive for a klm or so above 60 klmh, stop and lock/unlock. Everything is back to normal. If you can call it that. Back to the dealer .

Not sure how you are with tools & mechanical side of things but..
If u can, remove the front panel from under the seat, it has 4 clips & requires a little force to remove. Pull towards the front of the vehicle.
Then Lift the seat slide bar & move seat forward/backward & watch the cables under the seat. You may be able to notice something is catching &/or stretching a loom.
It may be a simple fix like refit the loom to a particualr point on the seat base, there fixing the problem & not having to travel any distance (if at all?:eek:) to the dealer.
Also check the connector block & make sure it is securely fixed to its other half, just do up the 7mm or 8mm bolt until fairly firm.

Thanks Sniegy. I'm pretty handy with tools. We are on the right track. The looms are 'stressed' and the main loom running to the plug actually fouls on the edge of the rh lower inner seat trim when the seat is moved forward. This to the point where the insulation tape binding has been torn by the pressure. There are two push in locating plugs on the main loom. Only one was seated. Neither will actually help keep the loom out of the way. ( without stressing the wires ) For the life of me, I cannot understand why they would mount a plug on the seat, and then take a loom to it the way they have.Quote:

In my opinion, the seat should come off the rails, the wiring can then be sorted, relooped, reattached. Whatever it takes.
