There was a lot of back-flipping on the 19" Conti AT's some months ago - "yes they would be available", "they might be available", "no they're not going to be available". So I'd be skeptical about any claims unless they come from the distributor.

    Let's hope though ...............

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Hi Gordon, Lets hope that one of the tyre companies get an act before too long.
I have only done 28K on the originals, but no doubt, by the time I can get a decent replacement, they would have worn out.

With all the problems in relation to the availability of quality all terrains/mud tyres in 19" would it not be a better/wiser idea to go up a size to 20's particularly now that Cooper has come to the party. Or does a problem arise because of the low profile and easier damage to the rim.

    Merv, welcome to the forum!

The relative merits of 19" rims are the most extensively discussed topic on this forum. Please search this forum for the details, and if you're still not clear on the pros and cons after all that feel free to extend one of the existing threads.

That's a good price Chris, given that all other 19" rubber is much dearer.
Really good tyre from the UK site feedback.

I sure hope this is correct as (1) I wasn't looking forward to the day my MTR's wear out, and (2) with 8 rims to boot (5 for the car and 3 for the camper trailer) I can't afford to upsize them all to 20".

They may be on the way?

I have been following the tyre threads ever since I got the D4 January 2010 and have gone from nearly signing up for 18" rims, to investigating importing the General Grabber AT (255/55/19) after reading reports and brochure on UK forum to getting the Pirelli AT. Time was on my side as first off road is to the Cape in July. Today I rang Spinning Wheel Tyres who now say the General Grabber AT (255/55/19) shows on their list. Then rang my local JaxTyres and they put me on hold and rang Continental, say they are on the boat and are about 1 month away at $279 fitted. He put six on back order for me, looks hopeful, so if you can wait a month could be worth it.

    Regards
    Gerry
