The stone jamming in between the rim & caliper happened to a mate of mine in a current model patrol with 17"s.
Completely scored the rim causing a flat & damaging the rim beyond repair.
Cost of replacement rim was $700.00 ex nissan.

I have the Dynamic 17" steel rims with LT tyres for reasons such as that.
They are heavy to handle if your backs bung like mine but with the rock/gravel in the Marble Bar/Nullagine region and into the desert where I am occasionally they are extra insurance.
Hey D3viate - did the ride height stay at bump stops - even after turning the D3 off and on?
I had mine drop from normal to access - but I was only doing 110km/h on a freeway (honestly officer!). Pulled over, turned off and on - back to normal.
Turns out my (previous) dealer fitted the steering sensor back to front which triggered the fault.
Cheers,
Rob
Yes, stayed down. Did the stop/lock/start, remove earth lead a few times, hold ignition on start for 10 or so seconds while in D and car off tricks, all while sitting in 44C. Just had to drive off swearing.
Luckily I was only 50kms from a Service Agent which I had to visit twice to rectify, so a total of about 140 kms on the bumpstops, I ran out of words that were appropriate and I started my apprenticeship underground in a Coalmine !.
LandRover should supply Viagra to get it up or ask any kid what they think about the default to lower. Mad dogs and Englishmen.
D3viate,
I had a similar experience with my D3. Turned I had had worn through the wiring harness in the aft front wheel well when the bracket holding it broke and it rubbed against the tyre. Was fixed under warranty. Had to drive to the dealer on the stops. Was playing up a bit but would return to normal when I pressed the switch and then it just stayed down.
Not sure if helps or not.
Cheers
