Also a 265/60/18 has a diameter of 775.2mm and the OEM 255/55/18 has a diameter of 737.7mm - is this difference too great to use the OEM tyre as my spare?? What about the D3 size of 255/60/18 with a diameter of 763.2mm?

I cannot help with the tyres you are looking for, but it is definitely a no, no to run an odd size tyre anywhere on a constant 4wd drive vehicle. ( or any 4wd for that matter ) Whatever you change to, you will need 5 of.

Especially on a current Land Rover.
Each wheel speed is monitored & a small difference can cause havoc with the ABS system, which then creates other headaches throughout the car.

There's a lot of animosity out there for the Coopers, and I've had my fair share of problems with them in the past, but I can't fault the current 265/60R18 ATR's I have on the RRS. I've done everything from bitumen, to sand and dunes, mud, rock gardens and some severe 4WD trails and they've performed faultlessly. Very impressed with the grip and the lack of noise. Don't yet have a handle on the wear rate, but they're looking pretty good at the moment.

    Cheers,

When I got the last quote for the goodyears, the guy indicated the new Cooper was an all new tyre and was not like the old - but as I indicated to him I did not want to be the tester for a new product - in this aspect I would prefer to be the follower rather than the leader. If reports show the tyre is an improvement then I will consider them next time around.

It has been reported on AULRO that having 3 D3 tyres and 1 RRS tyre on a D3 caused ABS faults, without even considering to the impact on differentials.

    Cooper Zeons

I got a quote from tempe tyres for $325 a piece for cooper zeons 18".

Seems to be easily the best price I've seen around.

Soon as the handbrake is released I'll grab a set.

Does anyone know if the 285's affect the speedo reading ?

    Cheers

    doddsy.

i fitted ltz 285 a couple of weeks ago. yes it does affect the speedo, it is now accurate according to my hema gps. down side the odometer is out by a bit over 5%. gps shows 100ks, odo shows 94.5 ks.

ps check those tyres to see if they are the real deal or parallel imports, if they are parallel imports you could have warranty problems
