As far as I was aware you could only spec an "S" with a manual gearbox and addition of TR and air suspension meant auto only. I have only ever seen / driven one manual D3 and it had coils.

Maybe some slipped through the net, I know you could definitely get manual and TR overseas.

    The one for $29000?
Unless the manual has been retrofitted, it's an error in the listing as that car left the factory with an auto according to LR.

My D4 is the 1st auto I've owned although I've had auto company vehicles. I often use the D4 in manual mode to bump up a gear or 2 but obvously not often enough as sometimes I forget to upshift after a slow corner. However I wouldn't swap the 6-speeder auto for a manual gbox and clutch. In time I will implement an up-shift button (at least) to avoid going into sport mode and let the auto do the rest. A down-shift button might be good when about to enter a slow roundabout.

Noting that when in Command Shift the gearbox overrides you if the box does not like what you are doing.

Only at the extremes and I like that anyway. However mine in auto mode will pull down to just above 1000 rpm on light throttle, except for 3rd gear which slips the torque converter unless almost stopped where it drops to 2nd.

I would think Baz,, rather than worry about the auto(walk towards the light Baz---),,
worry about scoring the E diff---

The manual we looked at had the E-diff, not sure it had air suspension though.

you can't get the rear eDiff without the Terrain Response, which in turn needs air .....
