Llams not working properly

That's very helpful Graeme. I have had same air suspension error light come on repeatedly and then stayed on constantly last weekend with restriction to normal height as per Richard. On way home we also had sudden loss of power at 100km/hr (?coincidence). My local independant service agent in SA removed the Llams and all faults cleared and the air suspension is now working fine. I will forward on your comments about rechecking all the connectors when reinstalled and try securing the module better-the usual spot you describe in my D3 has another module ?UHF there so my Llams module was held up by single cable tie at one end (behind drivers right foot plastic panel) which might have caused a plug to gradually work loose (we drove in the Vic High Country in Jan with no issues- other than the occasional air suspension warning light at full height as per above comments). I was contacted Thurs morning about your vehicle and suggested that connector as a possible cause. Loss of power seems unrelated to the suspension system. Fault codes should give clues.

My module just sits amongst the wires and doesn't give any problems so I'm only looking to prevent possible problems by supporting the module somehow.

I did a search for the main LLAMS thread but could not find it.

I have not fitted my LLAMS as yet but one scenario has me intrigued.

If you are at offroad height and have LLAMS selected at +50 you are just under the equivalent of extended extended height. So what happens if you get bellied out and the car trie to automatically go into extended from offroad? Do you simply go to the max the car will lift or does it spit the dummy and bells and lights come on - likewise if it hasn't spat the dummy and for some reason you then select extended extended height - what happens.

If it has had a dummy spit will lowering the car both by the main system and LLams and then switching off for a little while and restarting reset everything?

Certainly will do a dummy spit, drops every thing and "critical suspension fault", however if you return the suspension to normal setting (turn Llams off) and restart the car after the usual remove the key walk 3 times around the car anti clockwise it should return to normal. Only joking about the walk though in case you think I am serious:D
I usually use my Llams in +25 position, that together with the slightly taller tyres gives me a starting advantage and dosen't seem to cause a problem when on extended height, at least not yet......

On LHD LR3 vehicles, I presume the dance would be Clockwise three times, but four on the LR4?:angel:

Your instructions are good and I appreciate the humour; and yes, letting it go to sleep is important. The NAV can require the same dance if one has been messing with the 753 code.

From what I've encountered, no sleep is required as an immediate restart always seems to work if the suspension fault no longer exists, but perhaps others have had different experiences. Just cycle the ignition with Llams OFF or sometimes even on the medium setting to sufficiently align the actual height with what sensor values the ecu is getting. If a fault occurred with the ignition off (eg to R&R the Llams module without disconnecting the battery) then, with the D4 at least, the fault will be reported when the ignition is switched on so the ignition then needs to be cycled to clear the notification, but again without having a nap.

Graeme, the experience I saw on a trip was not with a Llams but another device, and yes quite possibly just recycling the ignition would have worked.
