Not having seen one before I wasn't sure what it would look like before I put it on. Not quite as schmik as the Prospeed but at a third of the price...

Rhino platform on custom 3D printed mounts that result in the platform being around 15mm above the roof at its highest point. I can stand on the platform and it will not deflect enough to hit the roof.

I will use 6 mounting points when finished.
Looks great - well done. I'll live with the height of mine as it is only there for trips when we carry a sixth wheel.
They worked out really well Chris.Did you make them with the 3D printer you mentioned you were going to buy????
Andrew
Very impressive Chris.
Yep, made with a Balco 3D Printer from Kogan. Each mount takes around 30 hours to print, so not a fast process. I have made several prototypes to get to a design that is strong enough for general usage. They now need a coat of paint as the ABS plastic is not rated UV stable.
I have the narrow Rhino platform so each of the legs is different as the side frame interferes with the legs. With the wider platform, the front and rear legs could be the same, with the middle leg being the same design but 5mm lower to account for the curve in the roof rail.
These probably need a thread on their own....
Next 3D projects include a shroud for the centre touchscreen to stop sun glare, and I have been working on a removable Raised Air Intake that fits over the guard vent and clips onto the A pillar.
Chris, have you thought about having these machined out of an alloy block?
The shroud idea sounds interesting Chris. The optional shroud that you can get for a Hema HN7 is almost a perfect fit, although I haven't figured out how you would attach it to the LR touch screen, short of gluing it there.
I have found since installing the Kuda mount and attaching the HN7 directly above the touch screen, I now have far less issue with glare on the touch screen (most of the time). ;)
