The new addition to our discovery family,
So the wife has claimed to D4 so there will be no adding, but in the meantime I have added this 1980 Stage 1 to the family
I must admit though the D4 pulled this up the Toowoomba range no drama at all! Very pleased
The new addition to our discovery family,
So, I bought a Disco 4 SDV6 SE back in Feb and finally got around to snapping some pics of it stock. A few mods are planned with APT rock sliders, transmission and compressor guards added just after I took these photos. Safari snorkel purchased but not installed yet. Tuffant steel wheels and AT tyres next. Then ARB bullbar and a winch. Plenty of other plans, but for now, I am just looking forward to taking it camping when lock-down restrictions ease!
Final photo is side by side with my mate's 100 series Cruiser who will be heading to the Cape with me next year.

So just back from a quick 6 day (only time available for me between jobs and my brother being away from his camper business) trip out the back of Laverton and Kalgoorlie. Perth to Kookynie on first day. Out of Laverton via Lake Rason Track day two. Spakman Track and Anne Beadell to Neil’s junction for a camp on day three. Neils junction to Rawlinna a long the Connie Sue, through a thunder storm day 4. Along the trans access road to Zanthus and down the Balladonia track and on to Norseman day 5. Norseman to Perth via Hyden on day six. 2780kms in all. Every type of terrain (apart from technical rock climb) you can imagine. Me in the 4 my brother in his 200 towing one of his Bigfoot Campers. No mechanical issues (apart from a preventative wheel bearing nip up on one hub on the trailer) or tyre problems. Hardly saw a person on the tracks but did cross paths with a late model RR Sport traveling with his mate in a 100. Awesome trip with amazing country side that changes so much more than I expected, even after working around Kalgoorlie for years.
So, I’m trying to get a bit more action on the show us your Disc thread.
Up North of Perth last weekend
I think the Disco Sport is a very under-rated vehicle. Maybe that's because it's not a Defender, so some people think it's not a 'real' Landy.
I notice Wheels praises it in many ways in its Databank.
This is about as far off road as we can take the D4 at the moment in these challenging COVID times in Metro Melb.

Since the borders still closed we did a small road trip up the coast from Sydney
NSW holiday businesses must be thankful for the border closure...everything / place was packed (socially distant in most)
Quick run up the beach north of Port Macquarie
And then another beach in Yuragir National park, north of Coffs Harbour. Stunning campsite in that park.
