Just picked this 2009 D3 up unregistered 284k on the ODO for $4k.

I’ve already put it to work picking bananas

I am still in process of reviving my stolen D4 and initially thought this D3 could be a donor car for at least the bullbar, running boards (not as good as rock sliders but I need them for my young kids and other family), for rims and fresh Falken tyres, as well as other parts. However, it feels so solid to drive (steering, brakes, suspension) and the engine seems very happy and eager, with no noticeable leaks of weird noises (apart from signs of oil weep - no noticeable drips - at the transfer case), so I am now on a project of registering and driving it to see if it is a keeper. It has the EGR fault, checked with OBD2 (currently orange EML that comes up after a while of driving) and the waterlogged coolant level sensor false ‘low’ reading. Everything else seems to work fine, which is better than our poor stolen D4, which has a stuck tailgate and who knows what else (haven’t picked the stolen/recovered D4 up yet, so I am prepared for a long slow road to revive it (or to scrap it).
I haven’t named the D3 yet, as I have yet to confirm it can be registered and driven reliably. Wish me luck.
I will need to deal with the windscreen - two ‘bullseye’ chips and lifting upper rubber flashing, and then there is the paint - worn through clear coat on the roof with primer showing at the front, and clear coat (or is it a ceramic coat) bubbling on the bonnet.

The bubbles in the bonnet are flexible, like glad wrap, and move around like a plastic bubble with pressure.

Questions:
1. Anyone know where to get the paint code, and are there any LR or D3 idiosyncrasies in the factory paint - or is it standard for the time?
2. The windscreen rubber upper flashing is lifting in two places (no rust bubbling visible) and seems to have perished*. No signs of leaking - could it cause a leak? This should need windscreen-out for replacement, right? Any hints for getting windscreen replaced - eg should I remove all trim first to avoid window guys breaking trim?
3. I’ve noticed some people had issues fitting a winch to the Opposite Lock bullbar (bolt hole position?) - is there a way to tell if I could have an issue, or is there a recommended winch that is known to fit?
4. Is everyone blanking the EGR when it starts throwing errors, or has cleaning (or replacement) been a sustainable option?
5. Anyone else had to fix the latch/handle for the under-steering wheel access panel? Any hints?
Thank you in advance for any hints of answers!
*Sorry, just found the answer on the windscreen upper seal at Disco3.com (it’s push fit)
Cheers
Rich
