That's $19 less than the cost of Importer refurbishing a Rolex Day_Date.
Good money for a can of oil and a filter .........
Isn't your service in with the lease plan ?
I just got quote for the 12m/24k service it came in at $780.
I am just wondering how that compares with others?
BTW the car is a D4 3.0l

Been doing mine at 10ks
First at dealer free ( only paid for oil ,$180 ??)
Second at independent $330.65, oil & filters total
Cheers Ken
i have had my D3 serviced by both LR Dealers and recently and Sydney independent.
The $780 seems about right for a quote form a dealer, but I would check that against other dealers and local independent LR specialist, I think you might find you save a $.
It is very expensive for what is a quick once over and oil change as noted.
George.
Hey mate,
I went to Austral in the valley. $860. Oil, Pollen filters and bugger all else...inspections!!!!!?????.
Freakin rip off, but I don't know another way around it.
My D4 3.0L did drive extremely well after the service though. Which it did after I had a warranty job done....not sure if them plugging their 'puter in, nulls the settings or something. But it was so smooth.
Maybe just the new oil?
Cheers,
Kev.
Forgot to add....every car I have owned recently costs a motsa to service, so in reflection was quite surprised that it didn't cost more...still a rip-off thou....
I also just got my D4 3.0 1st service (12,000km) done last Friday.
Quotes from the official dealers were from "around $500" - "around $600".
Quote from Graeme Cooper was "around $400".
Graeme Cooper did it for $347.90.
They found an oil weep on the O/S Turbocharger, that I need to take to the official dealer for a warranty repair.
Note that in NSW legislation has been passed that means the factory warranty must be honoured even if the servicing has been done by non-factory mechanics, so long as it is done to the stipulated servicing schedule etc. That's why Ultra-Tune and other mechanics are advertising so heavily on TV etc.
After the service the car is a lot smoother and free-revving. I get a lot more power even without going into Sports mode.
Can't remember what my first (12,000Klm) service cost but I do remember them saying that they don't normally change the oil.
I did get them to change it as I think that this is probably one of the most crucial oil & filter changes.
They will do any sofware upgrades as well, which is why others have commented on power increases etc.
Cheers, Craig
Graeme Cooper was the independent I mentioned in my previous post.
They recently did my 48K service and whilst total cost quoted was about the same as the dealers they did additional items including changing diff oils etc that LR do not suggest doing until much later but I am happy are done more regularly.
They also did both front and rear pads for about $400 where as the dealer had previously quoted me close to $1,000 for that so I am pretty happy.
Regards,
George
