The UK one is Part No: VUB501170
Easily removed. Retains cargo according to EC regulation 17.Can be fitted with Loadspace Rubber Mat (LR006401), Rigid LoadspaceProtector (EBF500080) and used with standard loadspace cover.

Only done a little digging on this, but the EC reg 17 only reuires it to be tested with two 17 kg loads compared to ADR which is one 60kg load. Not sure of the decceleration as one says equivalent of 48km/hr crash and the other uses 20m/s2 or something like that. So the EC reg 17 is obviously a lower standard than the ADR otherwise I'm sure it would be approved..

Can anyone comment if you can use the load space protectors with the RAA557 or Milford etc or do they have to be modified?

Tunnel thug. Did you buy this at the Austral dealer? If so, do you have the part number, please?

Also, can your barrier be used with the load mat and boot space 'privacy' roller blind thingy.

    Martyjb.

Found this on Disco3 site. If you scroll down, 1 guy talks of the load space mat being OK to use with the Hayman Reece barrier.

The RAA557 can be used with Loadspace mat & Cargo Blind, but the rigid loadspace cover will not fit.
    Cheers

    Dangermousehouse,

Yes, I bought the barrier as an option with the car (from Austral LR in Fortitude Valley) - Part number is RAA559.

Manufactured by Hayman Reece, rated for 60Kgs. The barrier was an important consideration for me as I have dogs to contain, as well as all the usual bric-a-brac one lugs around the place.

One of the selling points of the D3 for me was that this was the only 4WD of this type that could fit a rear cargo barrier and not interfere with passenger side airbags deployment, (even the full 7 seat version). None of the Nissan or Toyota variants can do this so far as I understand, therefore if you want a rear barrier, you have to settle for a mid range vehicle without side air bags, as the top of the range vehicles have the air bags which would foul on the barrier if fitted.

Only drawback is that I can't fit the cargo blind now the barrier is in - it only very narrowly misses, suggesting that if I adjust the barrier slightly, perhaps it might fit after all, but at the moment, I don't really need to use it anyway.

For some reason, I can't reattach the photo file, even though i changed the name - refer this thread for photos. Do you have an OEM cargo barrier and are you in Melbourne?

    Cheers.

    Tunnelthug,

Thanks for that. The thread was an interesting read.

Annoyingly, I am now back to considering getting the Pommy LR one, whereas before reading that thread I had pretty much convinced myself to get the Australian LR one on the strength of the posts in this thread......

    Hi dangermousehouse,
Before making a decision, why not contact Hayman Reese('sp) and ask them if the cargo blind should fit with the barrier?

    Best Wishes,
    Peter

Not too worried about the cargo blind, it was more the cost and ADR regs.

The UK version is about 500 bucks cheaper!

always curious to know why you would have a safety glass breaker in the rer of the truck behind a cargo barrier where no one can get to it
