    Thanks Peter,
did you buy direct from the UK?
I expect there are good enough instructions to DIY,

Yes you buy direct from Pete at BAS, it does not take long to arrive.
    Good instructions supplied.
Only one small issue which I don't think has been fixed, the software supplied is great and works on all versions of Windows except Windows 7 64bit

    Hi wyperfield,
The info from ~Rich~ is interesting. I still have a stoneage computer and wasn't aware of this.

Just order directly. What Pete does is send you some hardware, with which you download the current map. Email this to him and he'll send a modified map according to your specs. You simply upload this and Bob's your Auntie.

    Easy peasy,

    Peter

Looking on the TOPix site, I note that they say the ECU can only be re-programmed 14 times, then the whole ECU needs replacing.

Presumably then there is a re-flash counter in the ECU, presumably so that dealers can see if any re-mapping has been done prior to a warranty claim.

Could it be that the BAS system when re-loading the original map also resets the flash-counter to its previous count?

Does anyone have any info on this? I would like to to a re-map, but don't want to risk warranty problems.

    Cheers,

    Paul

    Good point Paul.
I am thinking along the same lines.

There was a fair bit of discussion on the flash counter in the early days, and Pete (BAS) or Tombie on here would have better info. I seem to recall that the BAS remaps (and the TorqTune and most of the others) did reset the counter. They all claim the reflash is undiscoverable via diagnostic equipment, so that would make sense.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Trigger pulled on BAS remap direct with bell automotive in UK. Nice price too 539 uk pounds incl delivery whatever that is in aussie dollars. got some blanking plates for the EGR as well.

Hope it goes well. I have a Racelogic Pbox from my race car which measures 0-100km/h etc so i may do some testing on a private road of course.

Hopefully you have a pre EURO4 engine. Otherwise the blanking plates will pop up error codes.

You won't be disappointed with the BAS kit.

Back to the OP... there is no such thing as a "chip" for these... it is an interceptor. It is not easily removed before service. It relies on over-fueling and overboosting the turbo. This is real "caveman" technology.

Get with the program, and think about remaps.
