    The end result was;

Torque was up by 13.45% and the HP is increased by 26.68%

I have also emailed ChipIt to update the website as a D4 not D3.

Dorko , its not whether it was a D4 or a D3 , its the fact that it was a 3 litre engine , or SDV6 (series Turboed) and Not a 2.7 litre TDV6 (single turbo). That is why Redback has got it all messed up.

Regardless of it being the 3.0l that was tested, those figures are still wrong.

Also I'd say the figures for the Puma engine are wrong as well

Standard tune 79.6 HP = 58.9Kw that's a 30% drop on Land Rovers figure, of coarse I'm assuming that LR measure to the wheels and not the flywheel, I'm happy to be proven wrong.

To be honest guys I think I will take down those sheets as I have no idea what the dyno guy was doing. There is no way that is only produced 10% odd. Something sereiously silly with what he did. Thank God he doesn't work for us.

We as a company DO NOT release Chips that only give 10 -15% increase ... we leave that to DP and the others.

Case in point. Mazda 3. We could only get 7% out of it ... no matter what we tried. So, that meant we don't sell Mazda 3 Chips until possible an engine revision which will allow us to get more power from it. Take a look at DP site ... they DO sell Mazda 3 chips. And there's no way in hell that they get the power figures they quote ... NO WAY.

We made a decision at the start that unless we get 20% - 25% OR MORE, we are not interested. This is a fact guys.

If you, with your chip purchase, do not get over 20 - 25% more torque we will gladly take it back for a full refund.

Rest assured we are only interested in the TOP power ranges provided by Chipping. This is how we are setting ourselves a parts from the others.

****ty results ... we're not interested.

This way, when someone talks about our Chip they are only ever giving two thumbs up.

had my fender td5 on the dyno the other day,, had a few long runs to get it warm as i was only a 5k trip down hill to the dyno,,

i have a unknown chip and 21-22psi it was getting up to,, all injectors set to A on codes

standed ic and egr still on,, standed exhurst with cat and center muffler removed,

    32.7" tyres at 32 psi,,

got 102kw and 503nm at the wheels on my best run, other then that 100kw and 500nm was about spot on,

for comparason a ve v6 got 120kw at the wheels,, and less Nm,, so i think thats prity good,

    hi all

new to the forum, i just sold my 200 series cruiser and bought a disco 4 with the new 8 speed.. Due to euro emmission laws landrover has scrapped the 2.7 motor... I bought the entry level which is a detuned 3.0... my question is aimed primarily at mr chip it... can i assume being the same engine the only difference is the software programming ? hence will the chip overide this and make it equivilant to any run of the mill 3.0????

Now guys please don't crusify me for my next comment... having owned the diesel cruiser i can honestly say it has been the most reliable truck ever, yes i know the horror stories, oil consumption etc..... aside from the hype it never skipped a beat..
My question is how reliable is the d4??? i hear alot of frightening stories electronics, pumps etc? are the new ones improved or can i expect to have it parked at landrover for the next 3 years?

BTW, I love everything about the landy the only reason i didn't get one earlier was down to price? So mr chip it please let me know your thoughts relating to the detuned 3.0l and guys please let me know your general thought regarding reliability

your reply's are greatly appreciated, ill pick up my new beast in a couple of days...

    Congrats on the purchase.

As far as I understand it there are physical differences between the two 3.0L engines - not sure what they are though. I think LR would make it harder than simply doing a remap to up the performance of the 155Kw engine to that of the more powerful one - if they didn't they'd be doing themselves out of a lot of business on the top spec 3.0L.

Re reliability, as you say, every make has its woes. My 2yr+, 83000Km D4 has never spent a night at the dealers. It has had the EAS compressor replaced under warranty but that is it.

    Enjoy the new ride.
    Cheers,

    Sean

    Thank you for prompt reply

With all respect, have you read anywhere that there is a mechanical difference? I have yet to find any information to support this claim.... I was hoping for more concrete infomation rather than beliefs or opinions.... I don't disagree with anything you said, however it still leaves it open, while your logic suggests they would lose heaps to the upper models sales, i also believe it would not be cost effective to make design changes on vehicle that's at the end of its production cycle(5 years)... a point in case, the petrol V8 D4, Still retains the 6 speed auto.... why not update that one???? it still complied with the Euro 5 laws, hence why spend money when you don't have to?

design changes cause production costs, i believe the most effective way for them to lower the entry level vehicle power would be a software de-tune.... so from landrovers point of view they don't have to rejig their production line......... its all here say at the minute, my humble opinion only....

if anyone has some hard facts eg: mechanical differences like bigger turbo, stronger fuel pump, whatever it may be: please enlighten me...

    again you comments are appreciated

    kind regards

    Bill
