Unless there is really something special about the ECU on the 3 litre you will not need to send your ECU to him - you buy his kit and download the engine MAP and email it to him - he then does his work on it and sends it back to you and you load it into the car. When you put your car in for work you put the original map back in - when you get it back from the work you reload your BAS map.

    WTF???

Is this some kind of ****ing contest? There's no need to start off _any_ message like that. I've simply told you what TOPIX says - I've pointed out where it says it, and quoted the passage. To me that means take any other info cautiously, but if LR have changed their mind or spec then good for you, and bad for their bible. From your tone, one would infer that you're accusing (mainly) me of making it all up, just because you can't find WSM-16779, Sc 303-04A on TOPIX.

    Jeez ...........

You can't do that with the 3.0 ltr ECU. BAS, BlackBox and others haven't managed to crack the encryption code, hence why they have to use the brute force approach of physically opening the ECU on the test-bench.

Yeah, it's a shame because the BAS remote system was very handy (had one with my D3). They've been working on the D4 for the better part of 2 1/2 years, but no joy in bypassing the security.

    Cheers,

    Gordon

Maybe you have the HI output motor......give someone else with the HI output motor a burn with and 8 speed and see who wins.

If the dealer has confirmed that you have the same injectors to the other car.....then maybe you have the HI output motor after all......the low output is then likely to have different injectors. I had sat NAV, dab radio, and able to turn the passenger airbag off....the latter two are not available in Australia! LR by the way have removed them from my car. Weird things happen.

I seriously question that mapping is the only difference between the engines...it would make no sense at all.

Gordon is a highly respected person on this forum, and without his passion for the brand, many would not be able to utilise the D4 and RRS to is maximum ability. He has provided to you info from Topix....make with it what you will.

I think a little more respect is in order (from how your tone reads).....Mr Bilbobaggins

Brett again, i respect gordon, damn it i worded it wrong, i didn't think it would be taken like this!!!! i seriously am trying very hard to find the info Gordon is talking about, not once did i doubt what he is saying relating to anything he said, on the contary i said i couldn't find it and yet i believed what he said he read, infact, its only due to Gordons insight and undestanding that i strive to get to the bottom of this topic, guys please understand... i never intended for it to be taken like this, Im happy to be wrong , ive said that many times, I admit having being a b*tch before but i wasnt trying to this time, really!!!!
