At that price of $86,000 for the LC200 you are looking at the petrol model - the cheapest diesel is $95,000.
Garry
Garycol yes I agree, that is what I posted earlier. Basically I had found the LC200 to be around $86,000. The TD V6 2.7L at around $77,500 and the 3.0L at around $90,100.
Currently there do not appear to be many 2nd hand 3.0 (or 2.7L) Discovery 4 vehicles around. However, I imagine by the time we return to OZ later this year, I am sure there will be a few more. I would prefer new, but one needs to be realistic.
Thank you for your assistance.

Gary I have been quoted, by a QLD dealer, a drive away price of $86,000 for LC200 GXL 4.5L diesel. I thought that was too high, but then have not looked at cars for nearly 7 years.
You can "find" dealer prices at quite a variance - eg I found a 3.0 ltr D4 for $81990:
2011, LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 4, -, New Cars, $81,990 at carsguide.com.au
Toyota's RRP for the GXL diesel is $87664 + costs (= $94751 in NSW). LRA don't give RRP's, so you have to search the dealers.
Cheers,
Gordon
gghagis thank you for that. This morning I emailed another dealer to enquire about a budgetary drive-away price. No reply yet.
Whenever I receive good service/advice, I will patronise that facility. Some dealers will not reply to questions, as I guess they think a waste of time.
Hopefully a dealer comes back with a lower price for the 3.0L, along the lines of your message.
Best wishes
Don thank you for pointing that out. I just assumed it was inclusive and was getting excited. Bugger!
Goes to show when you assume, you make an ass out of u and me.
Just did a carsales search. $88,888 seems to be the cheapest 3.0l drive away price there at the moment.
2011 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 4 TDV6 COMMANDSHIFT SE Series 4 MY11 Cars For Sale in NSW - carsales.com.au - carsales.com.au
I found that there are far less Landrover dealers than say Toyota dealers, meaning that your bargaining power is reduced.
From what I hear from a LR dealer that I know personally, most of his clients just order one and dont worry too much about haggling on price.
Cheers, Craig
