Graeme be careful not to fit to high a wattage globe as we have seen a few people up the wattage on some of the globes & has caused the head light assembly to melt!
This includes the both the reflective section & front cover:eek:

Thanks Sniegy. I'll check what current the globes draw but would be surprised if they're more than the standard 35W H8 halogen.
Thanks for the further information Graeme. I have ancient surgical instruments which will allow me to remove silver dome but didnt want to go down that path if light globes I fitted couldnt be operated. Regards Noken
The Perth owner's lights are working, having enabled them in the CCF (2 places).
My bull-bar will block a lot of the light from mine.
I spent quite a lot of time removing a dome from one of my spare light assemblies using a small soldering iron to cut it into 3 pieces. I don't recommend this method. I also don't recommend the LED globes as there are too many LEDs low on the globe in the well that surrounds the base of the globe. I'll try the assembly in the car one night to determine if they're worth the effort to finish.
Graeme, how did you go with this little project? I have successfully removed the chrome domes using an electric hot knife. If anyone else is going to attempt this just take your time. I attached pieces of wire to each of the three retaining legs so I could work them out one at a time after cutting them. Unlike the main light reflector housing which is some sort of die cast alloy, the cornering reflector is made out of plastic.
What globes did you finally use, the HID's or did you stay with the H8's (35W). Rather than mod the CFF I plan to wire them to an independent switch so I can use them on twisty mountain roads and not have them cut out above 40 kph (I think that is the logic used by the controller).
That must have changed that for the MY14 Discovery as mine with power fold mirrors cant be configured through the menu. And according to the dealer, they were unable to configure the mirrors to dip, something about a change in the files, but don't quote me on the exact terminology.
