Rim Centre cap replacement or for new rims

Have 4 17 inch correctly rated BMW x5 rims on my D3 now. The centre caps on my 18 inch rims did not fit.

Online seller from Thailand delivered slowly by surface mail I think but at a very good prices. Noticed I could get lots of option and sizes which might be useful for you. Link if your interest

So far I've found an X5 max rear axle load of 1755 kgs with 3rd row seating (877 kg per side) but don't know what component causes the limiting factor - chassis, suspension, bearings, rims, tyres? I saw a heresay reference to 950 kg for the rims but no basis was given. It would be good to see a stamped or cast load rating.

    Hi Rob

There is several versions of X5 17 inch rims. Mine are one of the older OEM type. BMW dealer in Doncaster whom I know advised the type I have are over 1000kg rated. The dealer book showed a load rating for all variations. Saddly this is not freely availble information and as Graeme pointed out, load rating is not stamped on them. Have 4 under rated 17inch rims (690kg stamp) so it is worth asking a expert before trusting a vendor (SYDNEY SAILING) They are heading fo my snapper drop to avoid me passing on under rated and dangerous rims to others.

Right as usual Graeme, the markings on the under rated rims do not show a brand. I am not sure what they are off but they are not off a BMW. I would like to give then back as a anchor to Joel from Sydney Sailing but assume he will sink his own boats if he uses poor quality kit on his boats like he did on his disco

Tire and wheels are a bit dirty but I was having fun Tombie

Pic with tire on is the BMW X5 17 inch. BMW have several styles. Mine is not the latest. The second pic is the 17 inch under rated rim. It has the weight stamp on it.

The Centre cap is a bit bright. There was so many options
